Padabhyanga with detox foot bath

Padabhyanga is an Ayurvedic foot massage and an extremely delicate and soothing treatment that has a revitalising and invigorating effect on the whole body. Using warm ghee (pure butterfat) or oil, the feet, calves and knees are stroked and massaged with skillful moves.

The foot massage soothes and smoothes rough patches and helps to stabilise the feet, alleviating insomnia, nervousness and a restless, problem-ridden mind. It also improves vision through the indirect connection between the sole of the foot and the eyes. This foot and leg massage stimulates the circulation of the subtle energy flow and conveys a feeling of deep relaxation in harmony with oneself.

In addition to the nurturing aspect, Padabhyanga has a great effect on the autonomic nervous system and soothes the body and soul in states of exhaustion. Massaging the legs re-energises the abdomen and pelvis, supports the functions of the large intestine and stimulates the circulation. The 45-minute treatment gently strengthens the feet. Gently rubbing and kneading the feet and calves with warm oil up to the knees, using pressure point therapy on so-called marma points, which is part of the programme, makes them feel light and flexible again,. The Padabhyanga massage makes contact with the entire energetic system of the body via the reflex zones of the feet. Padabhyanga has an extremely calming and balancing effect.
