Abhyanga
Full body oil massage
This massage is often referred to as the pearl of Ayurvedic massages. The warm oil and the therapist’s hand wrap the body in a gentle embrace. In addition to the general physically invigorating effect, you will relax deeply during the massage. The Ayurvedically matured, warm base oils have a calming effect on the psyche and a nourishing, regenerating and revitalising effect on the skin, while the massage itself has a strengthening effect on the muscles. The breath slows down and the mind becomes calmer. This massage has a calming effect on the nervous system, strengthens the circulation and helps the body to move and eliminate toxins.
The Ayurvedic scriptures state:
“The use of oil massages leads to a soft, flexible, strong and energised body. It is extremely beneficial for the skin and should therefore be carried out regularly.”
Body, mind and soul are touched in equal measure.
An Anti Vata massage is a “heavy” massage with sesame oil as the base oil. It improves strength and stability
An Anti Pitta massage is a “gentle” massage with sunflower or coconut oil, which has a calming and refreshing effect.
An Anti Kapha massage is a “dynamic” massage with sesame oil as the base oil. It detoxifies and has a draining effect.
The base oil is refined with Ayurvedic herbal or aromatic oils depending on your needs and wishes.
