Recognise and pamper

If the qualities of Vata – mobile, cold, dry, rough, light, clear and changeable – are intensified by e.g. irregular, cold food, a lot of travelling, loud sounds, noise, wind, cold, shock, surgery or in the Vata intensifying times such as autumn and early winter, early morning and old age, Vata loses its balance and can show the following symptoms, among others: dry skin and dry mucous membranes, tendency to flatulence and constipation, restlessness, anxiety, insomnia, limb pain, tension and cramps.

It is important to harmonise Vata again before an illness manifests itself. Ayurveda offers many possibilities in this area in particular.

Nutrition:
Basics for meals with increased Vata

We recommend a nutritious, warm breakfast, a light snack between meals, lunch between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., possibly a small afternoon snack so that the energy level does not drop, evening meal, lighter than lunch and not too late.

Vata spice blend:
Lovage – stimulates the digestive fire
Fennel – takes away the winds
Basil – relaxes
Cinnamon – warms
Fenugreek seeds – envelops
Lavender – creates a balance towards calmness

Vata herbal tea:
mallow blossom, marshmallow root, marigold, aniseed, camomile, coriander; sweeten with sultanas as a tonic

Vata skin care:
Soothing facial toner: lime blossom and myrtle regulate the skin’s moisture, lavender and palmarosa harmonise and have a soothing effect, ylang-ylang provides a sensual fragrance, witch hazel refines the pores and clarifies the complexion
Vata face cream: contains nourishing active ingredients that make the skin supple, prevent premature wrinkling and gently stimulate blood circulation (important ingredients are: Evening primrose oil, borage seed oil, turmeric, rose, frankincense)

Vata massage oil:
For the daily massage according to Ayurveda, warm the massage oil in a water bath.

Vata fragrance oil blend with the essential oils lavender, rose, clary sage, frankincense, orange and vetiver for the fragrance lamp and for mixing your own massage oil or bath oil on the go.

Vata needs regularity, warmth, stability, trust and perseverance in order to regain its balance.
